We started the company in 2008. Since then, we’ve painted thousands of homes and businesses every year across the Indianapolis area.
Pricing & Payment
Exterior work runs $2.50 to $4 per square foot, and interior runs $1.50 to $3.50. Exterior costs more because the paint has to stand up to weather and the prep is heavier. Your written estimate lays out the full price before we start, and the final invoice matches it.
No deposit, ever. You don’t pay anything until the work is finished and you’re happy with it. We’d rather earn your satisfaction first and get paid second — that keeps the accountability on us.
No. We come out, walk the property with you, and give you an estimate on the spot. The quote covers everything from protecting your landscaping against overspray to final cleanup, so there are no surprises at the end of the job.
More than a number on a piece of paper. We look at the areas being painted, the condition of the surfaces, the preparation required, the paint or coating being used, the number of coats, and any repairs that need to happen. We also factor in access, protection, cleanup, and the specific requirements of your property. Two buildings that look similar from the outside can need very different amounts of prep and labor, so every estimate is built for the actual project. You’ll know exactly what we’re recommending and what’s included before anything starts.
Cash, check, or credit card — whatever works for you. Financing is also available; just ask when you schedule your estimate.

Usually not — our volume discount means it costs less for us to supply the paint than for you to buy it yourself, even with an HOA discount. You also get the right product for the surface, in the right quantity, without a second trip to the store.
Yes, $250 off interior and exterior painting projects — an offer we always honor. See our Special Offers page when you schedule your appointment.
Warranty & Trust
Every project, interior or exterior, comes with a one-year workmanship warranty. It covers the application of the paint and its adhesion — if the paint we applied doesn’t stick to the surface the way it should, we’ll make it right. It doesn’t cover everyday scratches, dings, or scuffs.
Yes, the warranty goes with the house. If the home changes hands, the new owners are covered for whatever remains of the warranty period.
Call us at (317) 406-9599 and we’ll come fix it. We also do a walk-through with you at the end of every job before we consider it done, so most issues never make it that far.
We’re fully insured, with coverage through Merritt Hall Insurance. We’re also a BBB Accredited Business and a member of Contractors for Christ.
The best place to look is our Reviews page, where you’ll find written and video testimonials from Carmel and Fishers customers along with our latest Google reviews. We’d rather let our customers do the talking.
We’re a small family-owned business, owned and operated locally in the Indianapolis area since 2008. We are not a franchise.
Our painters wear signature pink shirts — when you see pink shirts, professionals are on the job. You’ll also always know when to expect us, because your personal project manager stays in communication with you throughout the project.
Look at more than the price. Ask how long they’ve been in business, whether they’re properly insured, who is actually doing the work, how they handle preparation, and what kind of warranty they provide. Check their reviews and, if you can, examples of their actual work. Communication matters too — a project gets frustrating when you can’t get a call returned or don’t know when the crew is showing up. A good contractor can explain what they’re going to do, what’s included in the price, what isn’t, how long it will take, and what to expect when the project is finished.
Scheduling & Process
During our busy season we’re normally booked a couple of weeks out, though it depends on the time of year and the size of the project. We run multiple crews, so we have flexibility smaller companies don’t — we can add crews and prioritize projects to meet your timeline. If you have a deadline, tell us when you call and we’ll do everything we can to work around it. For commercial projects, we can also coordinate around tenants, employees, deliveries, or other work happening at the property.
Clear the rooms being painted as much as you can. Move furniture and take down wall hangings, and keep pets and kids away from the work area for everyone’s safety. We cover and protect everything that stays, and your property stays clean throughout the job.
We’ll assist with moving furniture when it’s needed. We’re happy to help, but we’re not professional movers, so we can’t be held responsible for damage to furniture or belongings while moving them.
Preparation and protection are a big part of a good paint job — we don’t just show up and start spraying. We cover and protect floors, furniture, equipment, windows, landscaping, and the areas around the work, with the exact protection depending on the project. It’s the kind of work you may never notice once the job is done, but it makes a huge difference in quality. A professional painter should leave you with a freshly painted building, not a bunch of cleanup problems.
We pause exterior painting during rain or any weather that prevents proper application, and we pick back up once surfaces are dry and conditions are suitable again. Your project manager keeps you posted on the schedule.
Paint manufacturers set specific requirements for application and curing, and they vary by product. As a rule, we like daytime temperatures in the mid-40s or higher with nights staying in the low-to-mid 40s or better. Surface temperature, humidity, wind, sun, and the type of paint all matter too. Indiana weather changes quickly, especially in spring and fall, so we watch the forecast and the actual conditions at the job — not just one number on an app.
Depends on the size. A small room can be done in a day or two, while a large exterior or commercial job can run several weeks. Your proposal includes a timeline, and we send email reminders so you always know when to expect us.
Yes — exteriors don’t need you home. Your project manager meets with you before you leave to confirm the details of the estimate, and when you’re back you’ll walk the job together for a final inspection to make sure everything is up to your satisfaction. Payment only comes after that.
Four steps. We power wash the whole surface to remove dirt, mildew, and oxidation. Then comes surface prep: scraping loose paint and replacing failing caulk. Problem areas get sealed and primed to create a stable base. Only then do the finish coats go on.
Yes — and not the shortcut version where one coat gets back-rolled and counted as two. We check every surface for peeling or flaking paint first, then scrape and prime those areas so the new paint bonds properly. The first coat is sprayed and back-rolled, and once it’s on we come back and apply a separate second top coat. We work one side of the house at a time, on every project, no exceptions.
Both, depending on the surface. Siding gets sprayed and back-rolled on the first coat — the smooth finish of a spray with the adhesion of rolling — then sprayed on the second. Trim is brushed and rolled, and gutters and downspouts are sprayed. We walk through the plan with you at the pre-job walkthrough before painting starts.
We use elastomeric caulk — it flexes with the material far more than standard latex caulk, which means less cracking and less wood rot. Caulk that’s coming loose gets pulled off, while caulk that’s failing but still stuck to the surface gets caulked over — best practice, since removing it can leave gaps that can’t be refilled. If you’d rather have old caulk fully removed, just ask.
As many as it takes to get a consistent finish. Interior paint isn’t protecting your walls from weather the way exterior paint protects siding — the goal is the color you picked, applied evenly. If that takes an extra coat, it gets an extra coat.
Usually we don’t need to remove all of it. If the existing coating is sound and properly bonded, we can prepare the surface and paint over it. Peeling, cracking, or chalking paint is another story — we can’t make bad paint good by putting another coat over it, and paint applied to a poorly prepared surface will eventually fail with it. That’s why preparation matters: we determine what needs to be scraped, sanded, cleaned, caulked, repaired, or primed before the finish coat goes on.
We handle many of the repairs that go along with a painting project, based on what we find when we inspect the property. On exteriors that can mean damaged wood, failing caulk, or small areas of rot; inside, it’s drywall repairs, nail pops, cracks, and other imperfections. If something needs a specialty trade or a major repair beyond the scope of painting, we’ll tell you. We don’t believe in painting over a problem and hoping nobody notices.
Every day, and again when the job is finished. We take down all the coverings and clean the area, then double-check our work before heading out the door. You won’t have to lift a finger.
Paint & Services
The formulation. Interior paint is built for stain resistance and easy cleaning. Exterior paint uses different resins and additives so it can survive sun, rain, and extreme temperatures.
Flat hides surface imperfections and looks rich, but it’s the least washable — best for low-traffic rooms. Eggshell is the all-around favorite: not too shiny, easy to clean, right for offices, bathrooms, and rooms with kids. Semi-gloss suits doors, trim, and kitchen and bathroom walls since it’s even more washable, and gloss looks best on traditional woodwork. On exteriors we pair flat siding with satin trim for a nice contrast of sheen. We’ll help you decide during your color consultation.
Professional coatings from Sherwin-Williams and PPG Paints, chosen for the surface and for Indiana weather.
Low- and no-VOC paints and stains are our standard. We take precautions for indoor air ventilation while we work and dispose of paints and chemicals responsibly, all part of our Green Promise.
Yes — color consultations are part of both our interior and exterior painting services. Picking a color from a small paint chip is harder than people expect, so we help you narrow it down based on the style of the home or building, existing colors, trim, landscaping, lighting, and the look you’re after. For commercial buildings, we also consider branding, visibility, tenant expectations, and the type of property. Sometimes the best answer is a fresh version of the existing color with the right accent or trim. First-time school clients also get a free color consultation with their facility walkthrough and quote.
It depends on the house — some homes go many years between paint jobs while others need attention sooner. Sun exposure, weather, moisture, the type of siding, previous preparation, and the quality of the paint all play a role; a house hammered by afternoon sun may need paint sooner than one that sits in shade. The best guide is the condition of the paint itself. Peeling, cracking, fading, chalking, bare wood, and failing caulk are all signs it’s time to have the exterior looked at.
Many builders use the quickest, cheapest coat possible; their name isn’t on the finished job. On average, a builder coat lasts about four to six years before the home needs repainting. New homes also settle, and as the wood dries and shrinks, almost all of them need re-caulking within the first few years.
Yes, cabinet painting and refinishing is one of our core services. We remove the gloss by sanding or with a chemical de-glosser, prime with a Sherwin-Williams or PPG primer, then paint. Our premium option is sprayed on, which can make cabinets look factory finished. White, grey, blue, and tan are the colors we do most.
Yes, and we have a professional on staff who specializes in it. Unlike companies that have their painters wash the house too, we keep that work with an expert so it’s done correctly.
Yes. We handle the painting job in its entirety, outdated wallpaper included, and we make sure of exact color matching and consistency on the new finish.
Power washing, gutter replacement, carpentry and drywall repair, deck and fence staining, cabinet refinishing, wallpaper removal, and even pickleball and tennis court painting.
Commercial & Industrial Painting
Yes, a lot of them. Offices, warehouses, schools, churches, restaurants, apartment complexes, retail spaces, even water towers and silos. Some of our commercial projects have taken us as far as Ohio.
That’s how we plan every commercial job — shutting down for a painting project usually isn’t an option, and plenty of our customers need us to work around a live operation. We work in sections, coordinate with your employees, and schedule areas during nights, weekends, holiday breaks, or slower business hours. For schools, we can run a cascading schedule that cordons off as few rooms as possible at a time. The key is planning correctly before we start: access, customers, employees, equipment, ventilation, noise, and anything else that could affect your business. The goal is to get the painting done without making your normal operation any harder than it has to be.
There isn’t one paint that’s best for every space — the right coating depends on what the area is used for and what the surface has to withstand. A busy hallway in an office or school has different requirements than a warehouse, restaurant, or manufacturing area. In high-traffic areas, durability, washability, moisture resistance, and chemical resistance all come into play. We look at the actual conditions before recommending a coating; the goal isn’t the most expensive paint, it’s the right product for the environment so the finish holds up.
Yes — industrial and commercial painting is a big part of what we do. We paint warehouses, metal buildings, tilt-up buildings, offices, factories, metal panels, ceilings, tanks, and silos. These projects take more than rolling paint onto a wall: surface preparation, access, existing coatings, rust, moisture, and the type of substrate all have to be considered. We’ll help determine the right preparation and coating system for the project, and we work around the operation of the facility whenever possible.
There’s no single answer — a warehouse, office, retail store, school, and industrial facility all have different maintenance schedules. The condition of the existing coating, the type of surface, traffic, weather exposure, and the quality of the previous preparation all make a difference. Rather than waiting until the paint is completely failing, look the building over periodically and address areas starting to show wear. Preventative painting can save money by correcting small problems before moisture, rust, or peeling turns into something much bigger.
Yes — we handle everything from smaller commercial projects to large commercial and industrial jobs. On larger projects, we take the time to understand the work before putting together the proposal: measuring the building, identifying the different surfaces, determining the necessary preparation, and looking at access requirements. We also figure out how the project can be completed without disrupting your operation. If there’s a deadline, phased schedule, or specific requirement from a general contractor or property owner, we work that into the planning.

For every paint project we complete, we purchase, pack, and deliver an average of 47 meals to local residents, with deliveries going out every Friday. Through our nonprofit, Gift Kindness, we also pack weekend snack boxes that schools slip anonymously into the backpacks of students who don’t have food at home. “47” is why we paint.
